It's been an amazing year for multi award winning drum & Bass superstar DJ Friction. As well as continuing to DJ all over the world and his label Shogun Audio establishing itself in the top 3 drum & bass labels, he has produced some of the biggest tracks of 2010.
'Stand Up' (vs Camo & Krooked), his remix of Wretch 32's 'Traktor' and his stomping remix of 'Sweetshop' (w Camo & Krooked) have torn dancefloor's to shreds all over the place with more to come in 2011.
Also released this year was the highly successful 'Mixed' CD on Ministry of Sound which featured over 50 tracks from right across the board of the scene.
If your coming to witness a Friction DJ set, prepare to be blown away with mix after mix because this man never disappoints!
Dynamite MC, aka Dominic Smith, grew up around the world… Germany, Ireland, Brazil, Gloucester, Bristol and now London. One of the biggest names in the global MC world, he originally gained prominence in the jungle and drum and bass arenas, but has since also released highly enviable hip hop, breaks, garage and reggae material. Over the years, Dynamite has gone on to collaborate with a range of world class artists including Krafty Kuts, The Nextmen (Round of Applause, Blood & Fire), DJ Skitz, Sinden, Switch, Andy C, DJ Zinc, Missile, DJ Friction, and the Scratch Perverts.
He started his MCing career on pirate radio station Krush FM, broadcasting in Gloucester, South West England during the early 1990s. After meeting the now legendary Roni Size in 1994 and MCing for the Full Cycle crew, the Bristol collective formed the live band Reprazent where Dynamite shared vocal duties with singer, Onallee. Their debut album New Forms won the Mercury Music Prize in 1997, and Dynamite's role was enhanced for Reprazent's second album, the hip-hop influenced In The Mode (2000).
He released a solo album, The World of Dynamite, and the mixtape CD Big Man Talk was released on the Strong Records label (featuring samples from Enya and Kanye West).
Further proving his versatility as an artist, the track Bounce (produced by Switch, now one half of Major Lazor) is not only featured on the soundtrack of Madden NFL '07, but also in the video game Need for Speed: Carbon, along with After Party. Warning also makes an appearance on the Xbox console's Crackdown 2.
After this run of production success, Dynamite took time out to host two national radio shows in the UK, interviewing artists such as P Diddy, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Redman, Shaggy, Pussy Cat Dolls, Ja Rule, Estelle, Chipmunk and many more.
Currently, you will find Dynamite working hard in the studio on the upcoming Big Man Talk 3 alongside constant worldwide tours with alongside the cream of the drum & bass, dubstep and breaks DJs. His new solo album, Radioactive, is also currently in production and will feature collaborations with the likes of Blame, Zinc, Monsta, Jack Beats, Shy FX, Skream, Redlight and more.
And keep your eyes peeled for the recently completed new Reprazent album, along with his appearance on the new album of one the world's biggest DJs, and Dynamite's long time collaborator, Krafty Kuts.
