Feed Me Ozone & Grandma's Tears?Posted: June 2nd, 2011
Feed Me self describes his sound as "music that tastes like ozone and grandma's tears". This begs the question, what is this DJ all about? Feed Me, or Jon Gooch, got his start experimenting with Drum & Bass production and quickly rose to the top under the alias Spor. He obtained the name Spor from his first collection of samples, 'Spore Tactics', but ditched the 'e' to balance the arrangement of the letters when displayed in graffiti style. He was first signed under one of the most prestigious Drum & Bass labels, Renegade Hardware, and produced a handful of classic Drum & Bass tracks such as "Judderman". Under Spor, he was nominated for 'Best DJ' and 'Best 'Producer' twice and was awarded 'Best Technical DJ' this year. He also created his own label, Lifted Music, with Chris Renegade, Ewun, Evol Intent & Apex, which has been nominated for 'Best Label'. Under Spor, he continues to release dark, solid, Drum & Bass, but has recently ventured into the electro house and dubstep genre.
"Joining the wundurful weeeerld of housse muzik. Hellews" were his first words just a few years ago when the creature that is Feed Me was born. Jon created his Feed Me alias in order to expand his music without genre constraints. He states that his Feed Me alias allows him to enjoy more creative freedom, including experimenting in visual arts; he began as a graphic designer and loves incorporating it into his music. In 2008, Jon teamed up with Noisia under their electro house label, Division, and created their EP "Mordez Moi/B.R.U.L." This release was the first time both Jon and Noisia had traded their usual Drum & Bass sound for house and it was widely successful. Feed Me has now released two EPs under mau5trap and is anticipating more. His sound is completely unique and incorporates large, expansive beats and synths. Feed Me has also recently been dipping into dubstep and the result is nothing short of explosive.
You do not want to miss Feed Me at Electric Daisy Carnival Colorado! Come experience the unique result of a Drum & Bass heavyweight gone house and and dubstep. See for yourself the electrifying and captivating performance Feed Me is known for! Don't you want to find out what "ozone and grandma's tears" tastes like?
