Diplo and Switch have nothing to prove to the world, with such illustrious careers in production and DJing all over the world over the years.
But they have decided to collaborate under the moniker Major Lazer with an upcoming LP, Guns Don’t Kill People– Lazers Do.
It will be out June 16 on Downtown Records.
What the hell is Major Lazer all about? With the likes of Santigold and M.I.A. featuring on this project as well it seems like a real riot is in place.
The two lads seek inspiration from Jamaica this time round and have come out with their very own version of rasta/reggae dance tracks just to prove to us the versatility and diversity they possess.
Well, according to Diplo, Major Lazer is “a renegade commando with a lazer arm and a rocket-powered skateboard who fights the spoils of vampires, zombies, pimps, mummies, and other unsavory forces of evil.”
And in his own layman terms it is a “digital reggae and dancehall from Mars in the future!”
From zombies to thrillas in manila they are planning to eat your brains.
