Discovery Project Announces Art Installation Winner
May 7, 2014
Insomniac, the Discovery Project and Moto X congratulate NYC-based multimedia artist Sabrina Dani for winning the first-ever Discovery Project Installation Art competition. Her art installation, Dani’s Kandi – a glow-in-the-dark display made out of life-sized Kandi bracelet blocks – will make its debut at Electric Daisy Carnival New York 2014.
As a winner of the Discovery Project’s newly launched art division, Dani represents the future of the initiative. This is the first time ever the Discovery Project is expanding beyond music to provide an incredible opportunity for fans and emerging artists in the other major festival creativity areas including costume design, art installation and stage design.
As part of the prize, Dani will receive direct support from Moto X Mentor Ian Oosthuizen, Insomniac’s Art Curator. Additionally, she will receive festival passes for EDC New York, hotel accommodations, a Moto X smartphone, and documentation of her journey with her Moto X Mentor by a Motorola video team.
“Discovery Project believed in me and my wildest dreams and helped to make them come true, and that's one of the most important things you can do for a person,” says Dani. “My work and beliefs reflect Insomniac and the Discovery Project because like myself, they are also incredibly creative and free spirited.”
