Discovery Project Installation Art: EDC New York

Insomniac and the Discovery Project have continuously pushed dance music forward via new music breakthroughs and artist development since launching the initiative at Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas 2012. Now, for the first time ever and in partnership with Motorola and Moto X, the Discovery Project is expanding beyond music to provide an incredible opportunity for fans and emerging artists in the other major festival creativity areas including costume design, art installations and stage design. Each Discovery Project event will offer winners an array of prizes as well as priceless, real-life pro tips from experienced Moto X Mentors per category. Experience Creators of all kinds are invited to contribute to and compete in all Discovery Project contests and help extend the Electric Daisy Carnival universe to new heights for all Headliners alike.

Every Headliner knows that the EDC experience goes beyond the music: The carnival rides, the fireworks, the otherworldly performers all add to your EDC lifelong memories. The large-scale, interactive art installations are Headliner favorites, and now is your chance to help share your artistic wonder. The Discovery Project Installation Art competition offers aspiring installation artists and creatives the chance to show your ideas to over 90,000 Headliners at EDC New York with the help of our Moto X Mentor Ian Oosthuizen, Insomniac’s Art Curator.

The winner will be chosen by a panel of Insomniac judges and invited to build out the installation on site at EDC New York. Other perks include festival passes, hotel accommodations, a Moto X smartphone, and documentation of your journey with your Moto X Mentor by a Motorola video team.

The Submission Period begins at 12:00 PM Pacific Time on March 19, 2014 and ends at 11:59 PM Pacific Time on April 21, 2014.

The Judging Period begins at 8:00 AM Pacific Time on April 22, 2014 and ends at 5:00 PM Pacific Time on April 28, 2014.
